Stop the Bleed (STB)
The American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma is leading the effort to save lives by teaching the civilian population to provide vital initial response to stop uncontrolled bleeding in emergency situations. Stop the Bleed® Training is an interactive training program, providing the foundation for implementing lifesaving initiatives. The STB training program will prepare you to respond and mitigate life-threatening injuries in a hostile environment. STB training will teach you to be more prepared and proficient in severe bleeding control and life-saving techniques. The course is founded on the principles of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC); its curriculum is consistent with the Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) guidelines and meets the recommendations of the Hartford Consensus document on improving survival from active shooter events. The Hartford Consensus, in collaboration with the American College of Surgeons (ACS), emphasizes that no one should die from uncontrolled bleeding.
