What are all these acronyms?
There are a lot of acronyms in the training world, especially in the field of first response. Here are some we use frequently and what they mean:
AED: Automatic External Defibrillator - a portable machine that delivers an electric shock to return the heart to normal rhythm
BLS: Basic Life Support - generally refers to the type of care that first-responders, healthcare providers and public safety professionals provide to anyone who is experiencing cardiac arrest, respiratory distress or an obstructed airway.
CPR: Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation - the manual process to circulate blood through a person’s body when their heart has stopped beating
EMT/EMS: Emergency Medical Technician/Services
HSI: Health & Safety Institute - a nationally accredited training organization whose emergency care training and professional continuing education programs are currently accepted, approved or recognized as meeting the requirements of more than 7,000 state and federal regulatory agencies, occupational licensing boards, national associations, commissions and councils in more than 550 occupations and professions.
STB: Stop the Bleed® - a training campaign to build national resilience by better preparing the public to save lives by raising awareness of basic actions to stop life threatening bleeding following everyday emergencies and man-made and natural disasters.
Do you have a schedule of classes?
At the current time, we only offer group training. If you would like to have Scratchline Group provide training for your workplace, organization, club, church, or other group, please contact us to discuss your needs. We can accommodate 9-15 people per training, depending on the course, and will be glad to create a multi-day schedule with you to cover all of your participants.
Where do you provide training?
We are based in Boise, ID, and will deliver training within the Treasure Valley at no additional cost. We will deliver trainings outside of the Treasure Valley with additional cost to cover travel expenses.
We deliver trainings at your facility or other arranged location that can accommodate the number of participants being trained. If you do not have a facility, Scratchline Group may be able to arrange one for your group at an additional cost.
